When Simon first came to America, he was invited by a relative working in the diamond district to work there setting diamonds. Simon soon fell in love with the process, artistry, and details of jewelry making and began making his own designs in his spare time. At one point, he visited Southern California for a vacation, and decided to open his own business. When registering at City Hall, the clerk told Simon his name was too long, and that’s the day Simon Ghanimian became Simon G.
